The funding source changes the first transaction. Once the money reaches Catholic Mission Network, every PRI follows the same stewardship, deployment, and repayment path.
Capital enters through one of two charitable routes

Direct route
Direct charitable gift
An individual or business gives directly to Catholic Mission Network, which acknowledges the charitable contribution.
No Donor Advised Fund intermediary
DAF route
Donor Advised Fund grant
The donor recommends a grant. The sponsoring organization reviews it and sends an irrevocable grant to Catholic Mission Network.
No loan or repayment at the DAF level

Public charity and fiduciary steward
Catholic Mission Network
Receives the gift or grant, retains legal control and fiduciary oversight, and directs the charitable capital for PRI use.

Structures the investment, administers the PRI platform, and manages agreements, deployment, and repayment activity.

Repaid capital can be deployed again to another approved project, extending the life of the original contribution.
The return loop begins inside the SaT Catalyst PRI platform. It does not create a repayment right for the original donor or Donor Advised Fund.

What qualifies as a PRI?
A project must advance a charitable purpose and fit an approved SaT focus area.
Every PRI must be
Mission-first.
Financially sustainable.
Clearly documented.
Mission First
The primary purpose must be to accomplish a social or charitable mission, not to generate income.
Not Profit-Driven
Production of income or appreciation of property cannot be a significant purpose of the investment.
No Political Activity
The investment cannot be used to influence legislation or participate in political campaigns.
